Gerald Bray


Gerald BrayGerald Bray is an Alliance Council member and teaches church history and historical theology. Prior to coming to Beeson in 1993, he served as lecturer in theology and philosophy at Oak Hill College in London and was visiting fellow at General Theological Seminary in New York. A prolific author, Bray has published numerous scholarly articles in addition to several books, including The Doctrine of God in the Contours of Christian Theology series (which he also serves as general editor), Creeds, Councils, and Christ (IVP), the Anglican Canins (1529-1947) (Boydell) and commentaries on Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, and James to Jude in the Ancient Christian commentary Series. One of his recent books, Biblical Interpretation: Past and Present (IVP), was noted as one of the ten books every pastor should read. He is also editor of the Anglican quarterly The Churchman. He is currently preparing a twenty-volume edition of the convocation records of the Churches of England and Ireland. He is an ordained minister in the Church of England.
